Finance/Business Manager – Radio Group

Times-Shamrock Communications is hiring for a Finance/Business Manager for its Radio Group with the position located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The individual will have dual reporting responsibility to the Radio General Managers and Corporate Headquarters to the CFO and Controller.

Applicants must have outstanding communication, organization and analytical skills. A successful candidate will be able to manage the daily accounting workflow of radio stations, while responding to the requests from the radio GMs. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast paced environment, with proven experience in daily transactional accounting, financial reporting and analysis.

The Finance/Business Manager will be directly responsible for:
• Timely internal financial reporting.
• Managing and preforming daily accounting functions.
• Accounts Receivable management, collections, reporting and cash application.
• Supporting Account Executives with daily requests for information and reports.
• Accounts Payable processing and coding.
• Liaison between stations and corporate for payroll and sales commissions.
• Month End and Year End Closing
• Working directly with GMs to develop Annual Budget and Periodic Forecasts.
• Assisting in the development and presentation of financial and business reports.

The position requires a degree in accounting and a minimum of 5 years of financial accounting experience. Prior experience with JD Edwards and radio a plus.

Times Shamrock Communications is seeking a Regional Circulation Sales Coordinator to market print and digital subscriptions for The Times-Tribune (Scranton, PA), The Citizens’ Voice (Wilkes Barre, PA), Standard Speaker (Hazleton, PA) and Republican Herald (Pottsville, PA). This position reports to the Circulation Directors of the region’s newspapers.

The Regional Sales Coordinator is responsible for assisting in planning and executing programs to grow print and digital audience through strategic marketing efforts. Creativity, ambition and strong analytical abilities are necessary. This position requires proactive thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and problem solving capabilities.

Job Requirements:

• College degree or equivalent experience in sales/marketing.
• Proficient in PC applications, specifically Excel, as well as strong computer skills.
• Organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with multiple departments and vendors effectively.
• A passion for exceptional customer service.
• Experience in print and/or digital subscription sales preferred.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, 1 to 3 years of daily newspaper experience and the ability to write and report accurately on deadline. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Use data and statistics to drive market and business planning.
• Serve as the primary resource for both business and marketing insights.
• Develop and lead market research projects and summary analysis utilizing Times-Shamrock Communications’ partners as appropriate.
• Apply research, statistics and analytics to quantify the company’s past performance and forecast future performance at the business level.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative discipline.
